Day One – Afternoon #Womenintech workshop

For the first part of the afternoon session we looked at basic tools in photoshop by creating our own lol cats. This included how to add text to an image and cut out and layer an image.

For the second part of the session we created memes about what we thought about the ‘women in technology’.

New Edition Coming Up!

Cat sandwich

Today planning begins on the next edition of VK. True to our usual form this will be done collaboratively, but this time with a group of ten year 8 girls from St Ambrose Barlow High School in Salford UK. The project is part of a ‘Designer in Residence’ Vapid Kitten’s co-editor Anna is doing via educational charity Ideas Foundation.

We are going to make a zine about women in technology, whilst learning some new technology like Photoshop and Illustrator along the way. So watch this space over the next few weeks as the fruit of our labour appears on the blog!

There will be lots of colours, cats and probably cat gifs.
